Skulltaliser Update: WE DID IT!

26 May

Well, we’ve done it, funds raised and ready to go! I knew we’d do it before the month’s end.

Next, it’ll be monetisation time, an upgrade of the site. Please accept my thanks for all the encouragement and views for going along with my brainfarts, for once it’s given me some focus to get something done that I’d been wanting to do for a long time!

You’ll be seeing some big changes here over the next couple of months, so I hope you’ll go on this journey with me as I grow the site!!

Thanks!!!

THE GRINNING SKULL NEEDS YOU!!

Just a quick post to ask of you, my dear readers. I know a lot of you use the Resources page here on the Grinning Skull, it’s a popular location for great free resources for wargaming, RPGs and material on the internet, all indexed neatly in one place to be used time and time again.

That’s all well and good, but I’d like us as a community to band together and make this great page even greater!

So, if you know of, or have a a free resource for something that you think should be included in the lists, please let me know via the contact me part of this site. I try to add new and fresh links as much as I can, but with the amount of info spaced out across the internet, it’s a long and drawn out process that I just can’t give enough time dedicated to it.

If you find anything that’d be useful to the community, let me know and I can pop it on the list!

Broadcast over!!

The Grinning Skull turns 3!!

1 Aug

3rdbirthday

I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know that this blog celebrated it’s third birthday yesterday!

I’d like to say thanks to everyone who has read my articles and visited my humble site over the years, also put up with my moaning, divergences and general nonsense!

We’ve clocked up over 321,000 views up to now, so here’s to another year and see if we can get to the half a million mark!

Terrain Workshop: The Oggum settlement (part 1)

8 Jun

Well, it’s been a while in the making, but here is a mostly done terrain set up specially for my Grinning Skull Oggum (oggam) figures. I’ve been meaning to take some pictures for ages, but haven’t got round to it until now. My inside lighting is rather poor, so I try to take advantage of the brighter light outside. The trouble is, after taking time to gather the separate pieces from their storage areas, set them up on my outdoor table and get in the zone for a bit of photography, what do you think happens?

Yes, it starts to pour down with rain! Just my luck.

Still, I did manage to get a few pictures with some bits in situ (I do have a variety of set pieces but not all at hand) I just knew I shouldn’t have started planting those conifers earlier and got some shots done back when the weather was a little sunnier!

What I will do is (tomorrow if its dry) I’ll start again with the lot and get some better shots, with more dynamism (that being with more oggam for scale) and better close ups too, until then these will have to do.

I’ll be back later with some better pics, and with a bonus for you miniature gamers (a free oggum hut PDF paper model)!

A quick update to let you know I’m not dead….

5 Mar

testcard

I just wanted to give you a little update, recently I haven’t had enough free time to be updating and posting here at the grinning skull, due to my commitments, bad internet connection, a turbulent personal life and other contributing factors it’s been a bit of a struggle to keep up with the web side of life.
I want all of you to know that have contacted me regarding crowdfunding spotlight, I will get around to sorting out your campaigns with a some postings, and as well as long awaited updates on my various projects and material for you to take a look at.
I want to assure any regular readers here that normal service will be resumed soon, but lately my connection has been extremely poor and sometimes I can’t even get a connection to the web, plus sometimes I find that too much time on the net is very counter productive to creating stuff, and that any spare time I get is better served actually “doing” than getting sidetracked by catching up with trials and tribulations, news and reviews here on the WWW, which can swallow up precious time spent on the internet! I do love to read what is going off with other peoples blogs and sites, but too much time can be spent this way when I could be attending to things in the real world that need to be done, so my apologies if you’ve been logging on to read the blog only to find I haven’t updated as often as I usually could.
Of course I will be posting the usual link to the latest episode of The Walking dead, for all you zombie fans, and hopefully now my camera is ok, I can start showing you some pics of my latest stuff, but just bare with me….You know how it is sometimes…!
