The Future, Dear reader, the future….!

30 Sep

wtf

So, as I sit here and ponder, just where the fuck have my tutorial pictures gone for my next Grim’s Dungeons of Doom article, lost in my 10,000 file folders it seems, it got me drifting off, thinking about what to do for future posts.

Sure, I’ll be doing more dungeons posts, as well as more crowdfunding spotlights, and more news of future releases from me, but just what do you, my readers want to see featured here?

So, rather than post up a poll, I wanted to engage you lot, to see what you think? More dedicated industry interviews (I had planned it, but do you want them?) Terrain tutorials? Reviews? 15 or 28mm?

I’ve finally managed to get hold of Frostgrave, so would you want to see something relating to that, be it 15mm terrain for the game, or a focus on the 28mm? More craft/making stuff, whatever it be?

So many things, so many decisions.

So I throw it over to you. Let me know in the comments section, or contact me directly if you have suggestions, ideas or what ever you’d like.

You know, this site isn’t just here to keep promoting my variety of tat, it is to entertain and enlighten (well, maybe thats going too far!) and of course, I do it for you all, my lovely readers!!

Let me know!

As you know, I’m all for money saving when it comes to gaming, and I also love toy hacks, so I wanted to share this post from over on http://cloudcraftsite.wordpress.com, check out some of his other awesome posts by visiting his blog.

Anyway, this top 5 has some cool stuff that can be easily converted for your games and models, plus links to places you can get them!!

If you like cheap toy hacks, also check out The giant scorpion toy hack and The bag “o” Skeletons review from the archive!!

The following are just some Cheap Toys I’ve found while browsing the net that I think would have excellent potential for Table Top Gaming, whether it’s just giving them a quick paint job, or Kit-Bashing them to the point where the original model is unrecognizable (or you get the “WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?” reaction from your friends).

Item Number One: True Legends Mythical Warriors

This bucket of fantasy figures was reviewed by Fungeon Master Dave O’Gara (will post link in a moment) and I can see a few figures that have potential as either Ogres for Dungeons and Dragons / Pathfinder, or as Kit-bashed Demon Princes of Nurgle or Khorne for Warhammer/Warhammer 40k. The Sorceress looking figures would probably make for good kit-bash material for a Demon Prince of Tzneetch or Slaanesh. The terrain that comes with this set is also fairly decent, and I would not hesitate to…

Crowdfunding Spotlight: Ghetto Miniatures 1970’s New York Gang Skirmish Kickstarter

26 Sep

If your a fan of the movie “The Warriors” which follows the a gang trying to reach their Coney Island territory on a fateful night amid hostile NY gangs trying to kick their ass for the murder of unifying gang boss Cyrus (etc), then this is the KS for you!

Whilst not being 100% the licensed property, these “not” minis are a perfect match for some of those bat shit crazy gangs from the movie. Not only are minis on offer, but a skirmish game system too. The miniatures are the stars here I think, and would make great additions to your collection if your into moderns/pulp/horror etc in 28mm games. Tis’ a shame that there are no 15mm versions available here as they’d be a great fit in my zombie games, but perfect if your zombie fun is in the bigger scale!

My only reservation is that the limited edition “Caesar” figure, seems to have out of proportion hands and arms, which is only a small criticism providing that “You can dig it?”

Ghetto Miniatures are still a way off the £10,000 goal, so not quite there yet, but as usual please show your support to the independent miniature sector and  back this project, or at least share this with others you know who might be interested in getting their hands on some of these fine miniatures! The KS can be found on the link below, so get your empty bottles on your fingers, clink them together and chant: “Warriors, come out to play-ay….”

Crowdfunding Spotlight: Big Bastards 80mm Troll Miniatures Effincool Miniatures Kickstarter

26 Sep

The next KS I want to highlight is the Effincool Minis “Big Bastards” Trolls. Coming in at 80mm, the words Big bastards is not wrong, as these figures are huge troll figures (even bigger if you use them for 15mm or even 10mm!)

The figures exude a lovely old skool feel, and would fit well into any number of games and uses. Also included in the KS is a female captive figure and pathfinder RPG adventure, which will be of use to RPG gamers, that is if they reach the $3,000 stretch goal.

As you probably know, i’m a troll mini fan, so I’d love to get my hands on these to add to my brood, my only criticism  is that I would have liked to see one or all of the figures painted up, given that the figures are almost ready to ship, this would have been a nice way of show casing them within the project. Still, I like them (Cos they are trolls) and think that Effincool need a bit of promotion to help boost them in their KS quest!

Currently standing at $594, which is a fair way off the £1,500 total they need to fully fund the campaign, I urge you to support the indie miniature sector of our community and help them achieve their goal. At least get over there and take a look, share this on your site, FB, tweet it etc and show a bit of community spirit! Effincool Big Bastards (love saying that!) can be found over on Kickstarter at the linky below!!
